An evening of Bharatha Natyam by Natya Dance Academy and Jayanthi Raman Dance Company
Chief Guest: Hillsboro Mayor Callaway
The full length dance production featured ancient and contemporary poetry in Sanskrit and English with original choreography by Jayanthi Raman and legends of Kalakshetra. Raman’s use of traditional Indian dance vocabulary to convey thematic concepts was well appreciated by the full house audience and the Mayor. Dancers joined as a collective force to create a unique experience for the audience with compelling contemporary choreography grounded in traditional dance.
